Meet Andrew
As a senior executive of leading international education organizations, Andrew Macdonald has met with thousands of educators, students and parents in dozens of countries. In those conversations, there is always a consistent theme; the desire to make the world a better place. Andrew has made it his life’s work and mission to help them achieve this; and it is his deepest conviction that this can and must be done through education.

In 2002, I made the decision to leave a successful career in the commercial sector to move into education. I often say that my career ended and my life’s work and mission began with that change. People ask me why I took such a risk to make that change, and the answer is simple. I wanted to help make a positive contribution to the world through education. It turned out to be a life changing decision.
Upon entering education, I was immediately surrounded by educators who taught me and showed me what being mission and purpose driven was all about. I was and continue to be humbled by their dedication to each individual student, all in an effort to help move this world forward. I’ve been fortunate to have met thousands of teachers and students from dozens of countries across six continents, and they all share that same motivation.
So this initiative, which I call Better World Learning is dedicated to them, and anyone else who works to create a better world. It is intended to help create awareness of the outstanding work being done around the world.
